How to help the campaign

Sign Online!

Sign the petition online now. It only takes 2 minutes.

Spread the word

The easiest way for you to help the campaign is to encourage friends, family and neighbours to sign the online petition. All they need to do is visit the web site, enter their email address and we will email then instructions on how to sign the online petition.

Collecting petition signatures door to door

If you can spare an hour or so, you can collect petition signatures from your neighbours. Email us at help@bringbackdemocracy.org.uk telling us which streets you can petition and we will send you a list of registered voters in your street. You can download leaflets and a petition form from the website. Make sure that people fill in their full name and address and sign and date the petition.

Collecting petition signatures at work or school

If you don't fancy knocking on doors, you can simply download and print petition forms and collect signatures at your local school, at work or local events. When approaching people, you need to check that people signing the petition are actually Lewisham residents.

Leafleting

We can also provide you with leaflets to distribute door to door or at stations. The leaflets encourage people to visit the website to sign the petition online, so all you need to do is give out leaflets and hopefully people will find their own way to the website.

Display a poster

Download and print a poster. Display it in a prominent place and hopefully it will encourage people who see it to visit the website and sign the petition.

Link to us

If you run a website, blog or online forum, then please link to us. You can download an animated gif banner from the downloads page. If you email us at help@bringbackdemocracy.org.uk and let us know then we will provide a reciprocal link back to your site.

Opinion

"If a petition can trigger a referendum in order to set up new executive structures, electors should have the right to petition for a reversal of such arrangements if they prove to be unpopular or unsuccessful."
